[personal profile] museaway posting in [community profile] ficwip
This week's word is...
woods / forest

How to play: Find the word in any WIP and comment with the sentence containing it. Just the one, ideally! The less context, the more hilarious & interesting it can be.

Rules:
- All fandoms, all ships, all writers welcome
- Give a head's up for disturbing/distressing content
- If you share a sentence, please read some left by other writers and drop at least one person a comment. (If you leave the first comment, thanks for starting us off and please stop back later!)

A note from me: Word game activity on Dreamwidth has fallen off over the past few months. I'll continue cross-posting it here, since I'd like to foster the community, but I think the ease of sites like bluesky and tumblr, and the promotional nature of modern social media, outweights people's desire to return to the old ways, no matter how much we romanticize the LJ days.

Mysterious, I love narratives that play around with recovering something, tangible or intangible, that you lost long ago. Like a place where all lost things go.

With a storm still circling out there, he thought it might be cozier to camp on the other side of the hill, but who knew what kind of beasties might be out in the forest at night.

"And then there were the fae creature’s of the woods, those sentinels of the wilds that diligently pruned their forests of the loathed spear, the arrow, and the axe of human invention."

We love to see some sentinels of the wilds in the woods too, especially if they're purging weapons!
