"A whole economy based on gambling, drugs, human trafficking..." A shadow crossed Duo's face. "It all had to go."

I'm with Duo on this one, a shadow would cross my face too considering the topic!

A very freshly written shadow before I call it a night. Needs some smoothening, too.

Behind the floating man, a group of people dressed in black appeared. They seemed human in shape, but their movements seemed off. Like shadows flicking in candlelight; sometimes smoothly, sometimes abrupt, changing form without intermediate movement.

I love this metaphor, simultaneously beautiful and unsettling! "Behind the floating man" also has me very intrigued as an opener... who is he? Why is he floating? Many questions!

This one comes after our POV character is revealed to have cooked enough food for a veritable army instead of sleeping the night before.

"You can pretend I'm not even here," Jisung insists, bee-lining for the fridge. He's forcing cheer, so opposite the shadowy slip he'd been just days ago when he and Chan and Changbin barged in like they thought a confrontation would help. "I'm just gonna eat. Don't complain, you need the help, this is insane."

Interesting! Is cooking something the pov character does to cope with something? The fact that he spent the entire night doing it tells me Jisung is not entirely off with his insistence on helping the pov character. He must be going through it.

From an original novel I'm working on. The context is that the pov character, Ishani, is playing Seven Minutes in Heaven with her best friend, Arya.

I inch closer. Our knees touch. I reach out. She grabs my hand. Itโ€™s like weโ€™re kids again, camping up in Show Low, in a small tent with a lantern as our only light. We would hold hands, make shadow puppets, and tell stories about them.
