This week's word is...
order

How to play: Find the word in any WIP and comment with the sentence containing it. Just the one, ideally! The less context, the more hilarious & interesting it can be.

Rules:

- Give a head's up for disturbing/distressing content
- If you share a sentence, please read some left by other writers and drop at least one person a comment. (If you leave the first comment, thanks for starting us off, and we hope you'll pop back around later!)

Note: Posting the word game to dreamwidth is an experiment! We have established communities on tumblr and bluesky, but I've never cross-posted the game here. If people enjoy this, we might keep it up. We've been playing the word game every week since early 2020. It's usually posted on Wednesdays.

That's exactly what I'm going for! The "he" is Kitty's boyfriend. Earlier in the chapter, he wasn't able to answer the same questions when Kitty's sister asked him, so there's a contrast between him and Yuri in the sense that he thinks he pays attention to everything she says, but Yuri actually does.

“You are too,” Yuri said. “I don’t know if I’ve ever told you, but you’re really beautiful. Especially when you’re studying. The way your brow furrows in concentration as you read through the problems, and that little habit you have of biting the top of your pencil. Your casual outfit brings it all together—a t-shirt with a faded graphic you probably got as a gift from your family and gray sweatpants with loose strings in the front, bare-faced with nothing to prove. I understand why Min Ho fell for you.”

Yuri says this just two lines before in the exchange. The context is this is a phone call while Kitty is in Busan. She puts the phone on speaker and lets Yuri listen to the ocean. Yuri comments that it sounds beautiful and Kitty says it is and accidentally adds that Yuri herself is beautiful. The whole fic deals with conflicting feelings.
